Typically an average domestic house will require 1kw (10 old 100watt light bulbs) to 2.5kw (electric kettle 2000w=2kw) wind turbine. A bed and breakfast/small guest house, public house, a small commercial business will need 5kw to 10kw wind turbine installation. Wind turbines will not supply you with all your electricity needs but will reduce your electricity bill significantly.
Using the new generation ESB smart meters a wind turbine will feedback into the ESB network generating income on your ESB bill account when you are at work, at night, on holidays, closed etc. Think of all the hours you don’t use electricity and soon the economics of wind energy start to make sense. Vertical Axis Wind Turbines are efficient, reliable and productive turbines to generate electricity
for home and commercial application. Vertical Axis Wind Turbines will access wind and wind
turbulence from any direction. The blades rotation speed is very low when compared to almost
all of the traditionally shaped turbines so, not only is it extremely efficient, noise level and
vibration are almost non-existent.
It requires little or no maintenance and has a minimum life span of 20 years. Vertical Axis Wind Turbines works well in urban and rural areas; has a smaller footprint than of the horizontal models; excellent investment adds value to the property and pays for itself in the medium term.
A 9mt mast was designed to support Vertical Axis Wind Turbines, which can be mounted directly on top flange. The mast is constructed from 8mm mild steel and is galvanised internally and externally to BS EN 1461. Foundation guidelines and rag bolt set details can be provided on request.
The Green Column is an environmentally friendly, cost-saving solution to providing
amenity lighting at remote sites. Locations previously considered too far from the
grid but require lighting can now be considered for a Green Column.
The wind and solar-powered solution deliver free, renewable energy which is stored
in a battery ready to be consumed when darkness falls.
The Green Column is ideal for rural locations or those where mains power is expensive or prohibitive to install such as Environmentally friendly – it doesn’t burn any greenhouse gas as it simply converts the natural energy of the wind into electricity!
Completely independent – it doesn’t need any grid connection so there’s no need to dig up roads! Cost-effective – quickly installed and there are no on-going power costs!
The system can even be adapted for other applications such as roadside illumination, shore-based navigation systems, and many other novels use. Green column consists of a 7-meter octagonal column with a lamp bracket positioned at 5 meters and includes the solar panel bracket, 1mt extension, control gear housing.

• Columns are galvanised internally and externally to BS EN 1461. And can be painted to customer specifications.
• Taller columns are available to order for installation at sites where extra height is required to overcome turbulence to the turbine or shading to the solar panel.
